Before you buy, meet with our HUD-certified housing counselors. Learn how to navigate home buying, lending, incentive programs and more! Receive your homeownership counseling certificate, which qualifies you for Maryland State and Baltimore City downpayment and closing cost assistance programs.

**PLEASE NOTE** Beginning, September 1, 2016, Southeast CDC charges $50 for the home buyer education class. Fee waiver granted for households making less than $50,000 per year, disabled, and Section 8. 

**REMINDER** Southeast CDC charges $100 for a one-on-one appointment for households making $100,000 annually. Payment must be made at time of service by check. See below for more detail on one-on-one appointments.

HOME BUYER EDUCATION WORKSHOPS

 

FOR BALTIMORE CITY HOME BUYERS

Our Group Home Buyer Education workshops are held once a month. Location of the workshops are only sent to registered participants.


The next Group Home Buyer Education Workshops dates are:

  • Saturday, April 8, 2017, 9 AM to 4 PM. This workshop is for people buying in Baltimore City ONLY.

FOR BALTIMORE COUNTY HOME BUYERS

Southeast CDC has a limited contract to serve Baltimore County home buyers earning less than $75,000 annually. Southeast CDC will hold 4 workshops for Baltimore County buyers each year.

Please Note: Baltimore County will not accept a certificate from the online home buyer education workshop. If you are a Baltimore County home buyer, do not take the online home buyer education workshop as your certificate will not be valid.

ONE-ON-ONE APPOINTMENT

 

After your workshop, you will meet in a one-on-one appointment with a housing counselor, who will offer important insight about your home buying situation. You will receive your housing counseling certificate upon completion of an intake form and one-on-one appointment.

Forms you’ll need:  Fill out your intake form: Customer Intake Form. You must complete these forms and bring them to your appointment.

CREDIT REPORTS
Your credit report must be from the last 6 months. A credit report can be acquired at your One-on-One appointment. Reports cost $21 for an individual and $42 for a joint report.
