Executive Director

Southeast CDC is seeking a full-time Executive Director to lead an experienced and talented team in achieving our vision of a thriving, socioeconomically and racially diverse Southeast Baltimore where residents share in the success and improvement of their communities. Approaching our 50th anniversary of implementing community development projects and programs, the organization has experienced tremendous growth in recent years and is looking for a leader poised to maintain our strength and support our impact.

The Executive Director:

  • Provides leadership to a racially and linguistically diverse team of 22 FTEs to build an equitable, inclusive team culture that supports staff leadership development, particularly leaders of color.
  • Is the primary person responsible for raising and managing an approximately $2.4 million annual budget.
  • Oversees all operations and finances.
  • Establishes and stewards professional relationships with community partners and funders.
  • Represents Southeast CDC to a broad array of audiences.
  • Will work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to update the organization’s strategic plan.

Community Project Coordinator

Southeast CDC is hiring a full-time Community Project Coordinator to support our neighborhood improvement projects in communities where we are implementing our affordable homeownership program. The Project Coordinator will support the design and implementation of public space improvement projects, including:

  • recruiting residents to participate in project design
  • seeking contractor bids, managing project budgets
  • implementing the projects with resident leaders
  • drafting funding applications to public and private funders to support project costs
  • writing reports to grantors

The Project Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Manager of Neighborhood Programs and the Deputy Director. Interviews will start in early April with an expected start date of May 6, 2024

Youthworks Summer Job Supervisors

Southeast CDC is hiring three Youthworks Supervisors to lead a five-week job experience program for a cohort of 10 youth at one of our three community schools (Tench Tilghman EMS, Highlandtown 237 EMS, John Ruhrah EMS).

The program is conducted in partnership with the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Employment Development (MOED) YouthWorks summer youth employment program and in collaboration with Southeast Youth Collaborative (SEYC) organizations.

The Youth Supervisor will provide group and individual guidance to prepare youth for future professional employment opportunities, including facilitating a career path curriculum, financial literacy, school and neighborhood-based beautification projects, and planning and leading other civic-minded enrichment activities.

Southeast Baltimore is a wonderful community in which to work, and we strive to provide an educational and meaningful experience to all who volunteer with us.  We can often find you an internship at a partner organization if we are not able to offer one ourselves.
