AN NEW OPPORTUNITY IS COMING TO HIGHLANDTOWN!
If State and City Departments of Transportation are able to obtain funding, we would have a new train station on Eastern Avenue between Highlandtown and Greektown.
This train station, part of the proposed Red Line light-rail project, would connect to the Marc system, the Canton and Fells Point waterfronts, and downtown BAltimore as part of a new regional rail line.
The Southeast Community Development Corporation has teamed up with the Greektown Community Development Corporation to develop a plan for our neighborhoods around the proposed rail station. In early May, a five day charrette was held in our neighborhood to create a vision for our neighborhood in the future.
A final public presentation of the charrette will be held on Monday, June 29th, at 6 pm at the Southeast Anchor branch of the Enoch Pratt Free Library at 3601 Eastern Avenue.
