Healthy Neighborhoods Block Projects

The Southeast CDC helps neighbors on Healthy Neighborhood target blocks to envision, plan, and implement small block projects. Good block projects can strengthen social connections among neighbors and help build the real estate market.

Southeast CDC has assisted residents with the following block projects:

  • Library Square wall mural on the 2800 block of Pulaski Highway
  • Mosaic tree wells on the 200 block of N. Belnord Avenue
  • Community space renovation on the 100 block of N. Port Street
  • Garden signage and rain barrels at William Paca Elementary School’s garden
  • Bird-friendly habitat at the Conkling Street Garden in partnership with the Patterson Park Audubon Center
  • Street tree plantings around the Patterson Park neighborhood
  • Hanging planters and rain barrels on the 300 block of Folcroft Street
  • Bird-friendly habitat at Highlandtown Elementary/Middle School #215 in partnership with the Patterson Park Audubon Center
  • Bird-friendly habitat and raised beds at the Lehigh Street Garden in partnership with the Patterson Park Audubon Center
  • Block greening projects on 3800 block of Gough Street
  • “Wellness Mile” Signage in Joseph Lee Park
