The Southeast CDC funded projects by three graduate student artists from the MICA MFA in Community Arts in the CARE and McElderry Park:
- Kristen Brown created a mural series titled “Becoming” featuring local youth paired with historical role models, such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Jackie Robinson, and Rosa Parks. You can read more about her artistic process here: http://baltimoreviewfinders.org/news-1/2017/8/9/becoming-murals
- Iandry Randriamandroso painted an interior mural at Tench Tilghman Elementary Middle School, featuring a beloved student who passed away suddenly.
- Lezlie Silverstein create a glow-in-the-dark mosaic on the front of the McElderry Park Community Association’s Community Center.
